2026 Old Mutual Mathematics Olympiad
Marist secondary school has emerged the best school in the 2026 Old Mutual Maths Olympiad.
The final round of the competition took place in Mzuzu at Mzuni.
“Our best student this year is Reynold Nyoni from Marist Secondary School” Old Mutual Maths Olympiad.
Reynold Nyoni from Marist Secondary school emerged as the best student with an aggregate of 116 and Alinafe Chatsika from Marist as well, emerged on position 2 with an aggregate of 109.
The two boys broke records in both two tests they took by whooping scores between 49 and 67, which has never happened before, previously the record was held below 45 in a test.
“The boys really did excellently. Their performance broke records. They exceeded expectations” commented Mr. Kelvin Muhuwa their maths teacher and coach.
In the previous round held in Lilongwe, both students also dominated the competition with Alinafe on position 1 and Reynold on position 2.
